The Lower Des Plaines Watershed Group and the Lower DuPage River Watershed Coalition study and restore our local watersheds.
The Lower Des Plaines Watershed Group and the Lower DuPage River Watershed Coalition share borders, communities and members in addition to sharing a vision for clean, healthy watersheds for people and wildlife. These groups also share resources and staff to accomplish this vision, so it made sense to bring these two adjacent watersheds together under one website to share information more easily with the public and with our members.
We are working to continually add information about our watersheds, the things that impact them and the ways we can all work together to protect them and make them better. The site is split up into three major areas – Watershed Group specific information, Understanding Our Watershed and How You Can Help.
While both groups operate in similar ways, like how we sample and assess the health of our local streams, each group has watershed specific reports, activities and memberships. Use the map below to figure out which watershed you live in to learn more.
